Be sure to visit the gallery this month to see all the beautiful pieces, and stop in during the Second Saturday Gallery Walk to meet Ben! We will also be sprinkling some images of Ben’s work on the blog throughout the month, stay tuned.
I don’t think we could have said it any better than the artwork of Erika Woods does:
We thank you for your support of our gallery, our artists and the local art community. None of these things would exist without individuals and businesses who purchase and collect art! Are you one? Please remember us as you “Shop Local”!
We are pleased to be able to share with you work by glass artist, Katherine Garrity this month in the gallery! Katherine won Best Of Show at the inaugural Indiana’s Emerging Glass Artists exhibition in October of 2012 for the work shown below, Fulgurites.
These pieces will be featured in ArtSplash Gallery, along with a selection of her other pieces, during the month of November. Garrity will be present at the Gallery Walk on November 10th, to chat about her work with visitors. Here is Katherine’s description of the creative processes used in making “Fulgurites” -
“These are blown forms made in the hotshop with a clear bubble that is rolled first in green frit (crushed colored glass) and then in white frit. After the shape is blown out to the size desired, I start to shape the hot glass with various tools and controlled heating. After the piece is cooled down, I take it into the coldshop where I grind the bottom and then sandblast the surface.”
Garrity will be present at the Gallery Walk on November 10th, to chat about her work with visitors. Be sure to stop in and visit with this amazing emerging artist!
Have you ever visited a gallery and had a piece of art catch your eye? But, for whatever reason, you don’t take the steps to make that piece of art your own? Often we have visitors return months later looking for a specific piece that they just can’t stop thinking of. Occasionally we can track that piece down for them but often, they leave disappointed that the piece is no longer available. No one likes to be disappointed! Don’t let this happen to you, when you see art you love MAKE IT YOURS!
Recently we had clients do just that with this amazing piece of art by our talented mosaic artist, Nancy Keating:
I bet you might be a little jealous that they got to this piece before you did! Be sure to visit the gallery often, we change our selection of art each and every month. October 31st we will be re-hanging the gallery, so don’t miss out on all the new items! We’re going to have a selection of smaller, gift sized, pieces available during November too. See you SOON!
You don’t want to miss the beautiful art created by Valentina Shvyrkova on display in the main gallery!
Be sure to visit before we close Sunday evening at 5 p.m., we’ll be putting up new art on Wednesday, October 31st.
For Valentina, painting is not just a career, it is a life passion. Born in Moscow, Russia, she has painted since early childhood. She worked as an interior decorator in retail stores and, in 2007, was juried into the Carmel International Arts Festival. Her inspiration come from scenes of real life – nature, landscapes and the memories of people and places she has visited. She strives to give her paintings a romantic touch through impressionistic strokes of color.
Works like “Morning in Venice” will be featured in our main gallery area during the month of October. Be sure to visit the gallery to view the wonderful selection! Valentina will be in the gallery during the Second Saturday Gallery Walk on October 13th to greet visitors and talk about her art, be sure to say hello!
Be sure and get to the gallery if you haven’t visited this month. You don’t want to miss Lynn Andalman’s art in the front gallery!

This month ArtSplash Gallery is featuring the artwork of Lynn Andalman in the front gallery. Her artwork will be on display throughout the month of September. Here is a small peek at some of the fabulous art you’ll see!
Tonight’s “Second Saturday Gallery Walk” is an excellent time to not only see her work but meet Lynn as well. We are open late, until 10 p.m. and there will be special events throughout the arts district – make an event of it and come join us!
