Sanibel Island is my family’s favorite vacation spot. The beautiful beaches are covered with shells. When it is low tide I wade in the water and reach down, always discovering beautiful shells, the dwellings of mollusks. These treasured moments inspired me to paint a series of water scenes. ”Under the Sea” (above) represents the underworld of currents which propel the ocean creatures. “If” (below) represents the view of the ocean from a flying creature’s perspective. My visions of the ocean are currently being shown at ArtSplash in Carmel. You can reach me at kayqart@comcast.net and on the web at kayqart.com. Hope to see you at ArtSplash!
