This will put a twinkle in your eye!
ArtSplash Gallery is proud to count Nancy keating among one of its celebrated artists! Recently, one of Keating’s mosaic creations was selected to be part of the soon-to-be-open Eugene and Marilyn Glick Eye Institute Public Art Project.
Keating’s huge Nebuchadnessar wine bottle, which holds 20 regular bottles of wine, entitled “Mardi Gras” was first displayed as part of the 2010 Art of Wine event in Carmel, Indiana and will now be part of the IU Eye Institute’s art display. Designed to embody vision, light, color, perspective and reflection the kaleidoscope design mosiac includes hand cut iridescent and opalescent art glass. Italian smalti and mirror combine with stainless steel beading to create bursts of color and a firework effect. Sunlight intensifies the reflective qualities, casting shimmering prismatic shadows.
The opening ceremonies and dedication for the Glick Eye Institute are scheduled for Friday, August 19, 2011 in the IU Med Center.
